Team Picture Reminder

By | April 27th, 2011|

We have our team picture tomorrow. We are meeting in front of Gus Gym at 3:30pm sharp. If you’re on the team I expect you to be present and wearing your team jersey, laundered and clean. Its imperative you are in the picture. These will be signed by each of you and a copy given to each of our sponsors this year as part of our commitment to them.
Peter Strietman has graciously stepped up to be our photographer so these undoubtedly will be great pictures. Thanks Peter!
Once we are done with the pictures we’re going to take advantage of the great weather and get a good, long ride in.
See you all tomorrow.

Our Director

By | April 20th, 2011|

I just received this message, and some of you may have, from Matt at Nica. I’d no idea. Please keep positive thoughts and support going in Vanessa’s direction.
Coach Paul

Austin and I were compelled to write the NorCal Team Directors, as well as our inner circle of supporters.
As some of you know, a very dear friend and coworker is in the middle of an all out fight for her life. Vanessa Hauswald was diagnosed with colon cancer in February and since then has been directing the NorCal league from her home between intense chemo and radiation treatments.
The hardest and final phase of this treatment is in the weeks ahead and I hope you will join Austin and I in support of Vanessa. Let’s all ride for Vanessa!
It’s simple: Just click here to purchase a stickers, bottle or poster that says “I RIDE FOR VANESSA HAUSWALD” for your bicycle. By riding for Vanessa, 100% of these proceeds will help LIVESTRONGfight to improve lives of people affected by cancer.
If you are also inspired by Vanessa’s positivity and strength, we hope you will also please take a moment to rally the support of your team riders and parents. The NorCal League needs Vanessa, and we know she will kick this terrible disease and be back in the office where she is truly missed.
Thank you,
Matt Fritzinger // Austin McInerny
NICA Director // NorCal League President

Seems like your coach wasn’t paying attention. The 24th will probably be tough for most people. We will make it 3:30 on the 27th in front of Gus Gym.

–Call For Volunteers–

By | April 18th, 2011|

Hello Team and Parents-

I hope this finds you well. The Norcal League has provided your son/daughter with an entire season of fun, safe, organized and exciting racing. As you know this does not happen on its own. Many volunteers help to coordinate each race. As the head of a large organization that promoted a few races each year I can tell you the amount of work needed to provide these races for riders is enormous.

Below is a message from Lang Miller at Norcal. Our next race is deemed Tams “focus race” of the year. This means we need to supply at least 5 volunteers for pre-race setup, race-day help and post race tear down. As you know our team has lots of good buzz around the league with regards to both race conduct and results. As the head coach I find it imperative that your volunteerism matches or exceeds the standards our team has put forth so far. It is also your opportunity to thank the league for all of their hard work and to cheer on your son or daughter.

Please let me know what day you can help and your preferred shift.(I don’t currently have shift time details yet but you can assume that some will start very early) Please email me and cc Blair.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Paul & The Tamalpais Team,

Thank you for all your team has done to contribute so far this season. The volunteers at our races contribute the energy that makes High School racing magical.

The upcoming race on the weekend of April 30th and May 1st will be your team’s focus race. That means that extra help is needed for set up and take down. We also appreciate any extra help on race day. Since your team has 18 riders this season we request you to supply 5 or more volunteers for our upcoming race.ra help is needed for set up and take down. We also appreciate any extra help on race day. Since your team has 18 riders this season we request yo

I look forward to seeing you at the races!

4-13 Official Team Ride Cancelled Today

By | April 13th, 2011|

Hello Team-

I am unable to secure a ride leader for todays ride. Due to this, with league rules in place, today’s official team ride is cancelled. I do encourage you to ride on your own or together but again, its not a sanctioned team ride.
I hope and expect to be back in action for Sunday. We’ll cook up something big!
Coach Paul

Ride Leader Sub Needed

By | April 13th, 2011|

Hello Riders and Parents-

Your coach seems to be unable to shake a low grade cold and fever, which after two sleepless nights has now progressed into little to no energy. If there is an adult available to lead today’s ride please give me a call. 510-229-7415
I will update the blog later today and before 3pm to let you know if we have a ride leader or not. No leader, no ride. Sorry. If that is the case I still encourage you to get out and ride on your own as a group but again, without a leader it will not be an official team ride.
More to come and onto chicken noodle soup and the couch and blanket for me.
Coach Paul
