November 2012

The weather looks pretty bad for Sunday. I don’t think we are going to get a ride in, but we will post the final decision Saturday night. I will be at Wilderness First Aid training all weekend and will miss the ride either way. If the weather cooperates, and you have the opportunity to get out and ride on your own (or preferable with friends/teammates) this weekend, please do.

We have decided to cancel Wednesday’s ride. While the weather is currently clearing, the conditions are still cold and wet, and I presume most of you did not bring your bikes in today due to the heavy rain this morning. We will try again for this Sunday, weather permitting…

Ride this Wednesday (11/28) from the BPL at 3:30.   Plan is to hit the Headlands and work on some skills.  Heavy rain will cancel.  I will post a cancellation here.

There will not be a team ride Sunday, but get out there and enjoy this fantastic weather on your bike!

Sunday’s ride (11/18) will be from the downtown plaza. We are going to hit Railroad Grade again. Bad rain will cancel, but forcast is for a break in the rain Sunday. Check here for updates.

I know some of you are getting tired of all the climbing, but these rides are the easiest to coordinate right now. We are planning on hitting some flatter terrain in coming weeks. China Camp, Tamarancho etc.

Thanks to those who have already sent me emails about their cycling backgrounds. If you haven’t, please take a few minutes to drop me a quick email. See post below for details.

See you Sunday!

These pre-season rides are all about getting to know eachother, having some fun and building a bit of base fitness. We are deliberately trying to keep the pace on the easy side. Intervals, sprints etc don’t do much good at this point in the season; they just hurt. We have plenty of time to ramp things up later.

HOMEWORK 😉 Can each of you please email me a quick note about your cycling background. This shouldn’t take more than a couple of minutes. I’m not going to check grammar, spelling etc. I just want to know a bit more about where everyone is coming from. Possible things to touch on: How long you’ve been riding. How last season went for you. Type of riding you like, don’t like. Strengths and weaknesses. Your goals, etc. Don’t stress on this. I just need to get to know you all better and it’s hard to talk to all of you on our rides.

Great first ride last Sunday! We could not have pulled it off so smoothly without the help of our parent Ride Leaders. Thank you!

This Sunday (11/11) we will start from the Plaza downtown Mill Valley at 9:00 am and ride up Railroad Grade.  Lots of options for ride distances.  Ride Leaders – please send an email to Coach Den if you can help out.

Most of the girls will be attending a clinic with Coach Christy.

Please make sure all of your forms are in or bring them this Sunday.
