Due to the amount of rain that fell last night, the league has cancelled the preride today. The course will be open from 7 – 9:30 Saturday morning. I am looking for any course information regarding changes from last weekend and will post when I find them. They promise that the final course map will be available no later than sometime tonight.   Early release is cancelled as well.

Their announcement:

“Dear NorCal League families and coaches-

Over the night, and this morning, the Five Springs Farm received almost 3/4 of an inch of rain making the trails too muddy to ride without damaging them; therefore, we have cancelled today’s pre-ride, and tonight’s camping option.

The course will be open from 7:00-9:30 am tomorrow morning, and again from 3:30-5:30. On Sunday, it will also be open from 7:00-9:30 am.

Canceling a pre-ride is something we try very hard not to do, but in this case it is in the best interest of the trails and the student-athletes. We do hope you will understand and support us in this difficult decision.

We follow the Leave No Trace guidelines of IMBA, which state, “Be sensitive to the dirt beneath you. Wet and muddy trails are more vulnerable to damage than dry ones. When the trail is soft, consider other riding options. This also means staying on existing trails and not creating new ones. Don’t cut switchbacks. Be sure to pack out at least as much as you pack in.”
See you bright and early, tomorrow morning!

Thank you,

Vanessa and the NorCal Race Crew”
