Volunteering

The Tam High Mountain Bike Team depends on parent support.  Below are a number of areas where we could use assistance.  We hope all parents can find something they will enjoy.  You can take on more than one if you like.  No job is too small!

Volunteer Positions

Volunteer Coordinator: Nessa Brady

Coordinates and assists with managing and communicating with parents regarding positions that need to be filled for events or for races. Oversees volunteers during the event to facilitate each person’s position.

Equipment Manager: Roger Howard

Keeps track of team equipment inventory, the team trailer and assists with transportation of equipment and arranging equipment in the team trailer. He also identifies what equipment needs replacement or maintenance.

Trailer Transportation: Patrick LePelch and Roger Howard

If you have a vehicle that is capable of towing a small trailer to race events please contact Patrick or Roger.

Events Coordinator: Suzanne Twing

Organizes and plans social events for the team. If you’d like to participate in making these fun events happen contact Suzanne!

Fundraiser Volunteers: (Open positions)

We need volunteers to assist in organizing and assisting during the yearly event. If you can help, please contact Suzanne.

Team Uniform Kit Ordering: Scott Johnson

Assists in ordering and placing the team’s kit orders on line and making sure all the athletes get their spiffy, handsome blue uniforms.

Team art work and graphics: Susie Ames

Helps with creating posters for the fundraiser, logos of the hats and the spirit wear such as t-shirts as well as designing the sponsor logos for the jerseys.

Registration Coordinator: Peggy Clark

Oversees, inputs and checks off all the required paperwork for each athlete and keeps the coaches appraised of those who have completed and submitted their paperwork so they are cleared to ride with the team. Maintains the database of contact information for each athlete.

Event and Race Photographer: (Open position)

We’ve had great photographers for our events in the past. We know at least a few that will return but our two official photographers for last year will be coaching so we need 1 to 3 photographers around the course to capture the action for most of the races.

Event videographer:  (Open Position)

This is a new position this year. We’d love to have someone taking movies of the kids.

Event media Editor:  (Open Position)

Take the photos, browse and cull into video slide shows and create shorts of races and season events.

Hotel block reservations: Erich Slothower

Calling hotels ahead of the season to secure blocks of rooms so parents can call and are assured a place to stay near the venue.

Race Day volunteers:
  • Setting up the tent village at the Pit Zone
  • Breaking down the tent village at the end of the day
  • Filling water bottles and manning the feed/ water zone on the course
  • Providing team lunch for the race
  • Manning positions required for other points on the course (Assisting Norcal with the race itself)
  • Cheering on our amazing athletes!
Ride Leaders and Ride Volunteers

We need volunteers to help conduct safe and effective team rides. Basic first aid is a plus and good fitness level is required to keep up and/or lead these kids!  Learn more about becoming a Ride Volunteer or a Ride Leader.
